Design Cadence for Scrum

Traditional agile development methods don't account for user experience design. This requires more diligence by designers to get ahead of development with research and ideation. Once development has started, however, design needs to stay ahead of development on some levels but involve them in the process as much as possible creating real challenges in time management and context shifting for the team. Some modification to traditional agile is required to include UX and user-centered design practices. This document was an attempt to illustrate this strategy to my colleagues back in 2011. Of course, it is important to remember that process is only valuable if it doesn't hinder progress or become a crutch to free people from critical thinking.
